It doesn't have the sense of possibility and enchantment that the other films do (which I suppose is part of the point since Midnight is about the magic of a relationship wearing away, or at least changing, over time). I would love to see a fourth film in 2022 that finds a way to rekindle some of the romantic yearning and excitement of the first two.
Absolutely. There's so much, potentially, to tell yet. The idea this saga could continue until we have titles like "Before Death" makes the hairs stand on the back of my neck.

I continually wonder what other "Before..." titles they could come up with going forward. Before Noon isn't very easy on the ear. Before Twilight sounds nice but it would be too similar to Sunset. Or maybe they can start back at sunrise and go through them again. Before Sunrise II!

Before Dawn would be my next choice. Others, Before Tomorrow or The Morning Before. Maybe the next series could be about a new chapter. Post mid-life. So we begin the After series?

A dark thought, but Linklater played the long game with Boyhood maybe he could play the ultimate long game with the Before series...

Good idea, I just hope one of them would be called After Eight

I prefer to refer to this series as the "Jesse and Céline" trilogy rather than the rather awkward "Before" trilogy... of course, by 2022 it's most likely not going to be a trilogy anymore anyway. :-"

Had their lead actor met an early, tragic death, it makes one wonder how Boyhood would have been resolved? Would have made for a pretty damn dark and heavy film, that's for sure.

Given that the subject was originally supposed to be 12 years rather than boyhood I imagine they could have gone along without him if something came up. I think even his daughter wanted to be killed off at some point.

That's my favorite part of the Boyhood commentary, when Linklater reveals that his daughter didn't want to do the film anymore...

I'd think that with the separate covers, they will come out separately eventually.

In case anybody missed the initial listing, the price for this on Amazon has dipped back down to ~$52, which is a pretty good price considering we don't know if the flash sale in February will come before or after this release

Julie    (that's about Before Sunrise... (the picture is soft like the HDTV transfer I "grabbed"... some time ago...)

I can't wait to rewatch the "record-phone-booth" scene...

I forgot that "Before Sunset" has a kind of "halo" effect (now I remember it- since I saw it in theatres when it was released in Paris), but I totally forgot this since the DVD doesn't capture this effect.

Do we have somewhere some photos of the packaging (box set) ? (I know that the individual cover have been posted... but I wonder if some photos of the box set has been taken). I guess that it will be a kind of packaging like the Wim Wenders small box set.

Well, I'd like to think they'll continue with "After Sunrise", "After Sunset" and "After Midnight", for an "After Trilogy". So "Before Trilogy" would still technically be correct. :) It would make thematic sense, too. "After Sunrise" would be post-rekindling their love at the end of "Before Midnight". "After Sunset" would be about settling down to grow old together. "After Midnight" would be dealing with one of them passing away (something most of us will have to face eventually). All six films would be a lifelong study of love.

That's a nice way of looking at it, I suppose. I've been assuming, given the pattern of titles, the next one will be called "Before Noon." 8-[ But, nonetheless, it would also still center around Jesse and Céline as a whole... I guess it could be like the "Star Wars" series, in the sense of having multiple trilogies all under the same big single tentpole.

I think Rick Linklater should eat Life cereal for breakfast tomorrow.

Maybe more akin to a season of the Clone Wars series.
