British Transport Films was established in 1949 to focus a spotlight on transport as a nationalised undertaking, to create an appetite for travel and to entice the public to use nationalised transport. Over a period of more than 35 years, BTF produced an unrivalled documentary film legacy for generations of film and transport enthusiasts.
BTF on DVD makes its triumphant return in this 2-disc set featuring 14 films, 13 of which are available for the first time and have been newly scanned in 2K. The 13th volume in this long running series includes Track 125, Rubbish By Rail and Careful Charlie!

Re: British Transport Films Collection
Does anyone know of any BTF shorts (or COI, or any others really) that were initially featured on these DVD sets but then turned up in HD somewhere else (obviously excluding the new BTF and COI Blu-ray best ofs)?
I watched The Entertainer tonight and was pleasantly surprised to find Lancashire Coast (1957) on there in a rather nice HD rendering, making the option of watching it via Vol. 6 of the BTF DVD sets redundant.
Apaches was another one, being available in HD from Arrow on The Long Good Friday/Mona Lisa Box Set, though it'll also be on the COI Best of Blu-ray.
It would be great to have a complete list.

Re: British Transport Films Collection
Excellent news. I hope Jones's other films find their way to HD in some other compilation.
