Re: Dunee (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-3)
I was thinking it’s been awhile despite him being so omnipresent when I was a kid. Was almost worried he had retired.

Guess it’s just a myth that Walken is blacklisted from Warner then?

He's been in Bristol recently starring in Stephen Merchant's series The Outlaws, in which his character doing community service ends the series by painting over a specially commissioned piece of Banksy graffiti!

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-3)
Denis Villeneuve confirmed at CinemaCon that Dune: Part 2 was entirely shot in IMAX. In comparison, roughly 40% of the first part was filmed in IMAX.

Would be nice to actually get 70mm prints of this, especially considering that Oppenheimer will get a big celluloid rollout this summer, tooyoloswegmaster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 7:44 pmDenis Villeneuve confirmed at CinemaCon that Dune: Part 2 was entirely shot in IMAX. So far, contrary to Blade-Runner 2049 I have never seen an open matte (which is impressive in open matte) - even "hybrid" - version of "Dune Part 1".beamish14 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:10 pmWould be nice to actually get 70mm prints of this, especially considering that Oppenheimer will get a big celluloid rollout this summer, tooyoloswegmaster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 7:44 pmDenis Villeneuve confirmed at CinemaCon that Dune: Part 2 was entirely shot in IMAX. Digital IMAX though, which isn't much to get excited about. All they did was make some minor modifications to existing digital cameras and slap an IMAX logo on them.yoloswegmaster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 7:44 pmDenis Villeneuve confirmed at CinemaCon that Dune: Part 2 was entirely shot in IMAX. The Fremen wail has to be the funniest repeated Zimmer trailer sting in a while - why did they play it like 12 times?

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-3)
Good. After Barbie and Oppenheimer have run their course, I think we need a moratorium on big new movies so we can all catch up on things.

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-4)
If it’s to the benefit of the final product I have no problem with it. I like the idea of it premiering in spring.

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-4)
It's to the benefit of promotion for financial gain, status, awards recognition, etc. for the studio. The film is surely done, but the actors can't do press because of the strike. They'll push it off again if there isn't a deal in sight by the new year.flyonthewall2983 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:05 pmIf it’s to the benefit of the final product I have no problem with it.

I’m thinking more as far as post-production goes

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-4)
I wonder what this means for the release date for Mickey 17, as it opens 2 weeks after this. Wouldn't be surprised if WB moves it to May and gets a Cannes premiere for it.

Re: Dune (Denis Villeneuve, 2021-4)
Yeah, I know that’s what you were thinking, but has there been any indication that the film will undergo more post-production tinkering as it sits on the shelf? I don’t know why they’d expend more resources doing that when they were happy with the product and ready to go already. This is only getting pushed because of the strike.

Zendaya's stardom among the key 15-30 demographic should not be underestimated. They need her promotion.
