Seems Code Red also has two of Michele Soavi's films: The Church and The Sect

Another Andy Milligan film, Blood, is out on blu double-featured with Legacy of Satan. Gotta love Code Red press releases -
LEGACY OF SATAN (1974) 69min
Seductive witches perform black magic and Satanic rituals in this horrifying tale of sexual murder. Calling upon dark evil forces these sexy priestesses of the devil lure their unsuspecting victims into the fires of a living hell. Cast: Lisa Christian, John Francis, Christa Helm, Ann Paul, and LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT star Sandra Peabody. Director of Photography by Joao Fernandes! Directed by Gerard (Deep Throat) Damiano. CODE RED mastered this motion pictures from the surviving C.R.I 35mm! Due to high volume from the internet complaint, we did no use DNR to keep the grain intact!

BLOOD (1974) 69min
Lawrence & Regina Orlovsky (Allan Berendt & Hope Stansbury) move into a new mansion by the real estate slime Mr. Markham (outlandish Martin Reymert) not knowing they are dracula & werewolf couple!!! off the wall chiller and they even thrown in a Maneating plant! Longer 35mm print surface which marks an official home video debut in the usa! Cult icon Andy Milligan creates another crazy movie that was bought by Lou Peraino to double bill with other films due to the short time length! Due to extremely high demand and complaint by kids on the web, this is presented without DNR to fix the scratches and the white dots and the grain intact!

Actually, reading this is quite OK : "Due to high volume from the internet complaint, we did no use DNR to keep the grain intact!"
There's a certain explicit "We've heard you" which is not bad to read.
The other one though is laughable, and it looks as if actually, they have no idea what the point of not using DNR is.

Bill is throwing his toys out of his pram again

As usual, the comments and replies from Bill are very entertaining.

VAMPIRE NIGHT'S ORGY is official OOP. 3 out of 400 customers is very vocal over one frame that has a digital hits. Error I did not see nor did many of the customers. Since they demand action , the Blu will no longer be sold.

Best comment yet in that Facebook post
Code Red isn't OOP just because its owner is defective

Still a tremendous show to read :
I can't take a time machine to fix this error. I am only human. if I have a fuckin time machine I rather rescue people like 9/11 than a digital hit in one frame.
several bother to pay attention to the dull scene and notices 1/2 a frame scene damaged.
Some guy on FB : Code Red sucks balls
Code Red : not gay like those other blu label. I like girls/ladies
And my personal favourite :
I can't take a fuckin' time machine to fix it. OOP is the only answer
Can you imagine if OOP really was the only answer ? How many faulty discs would be OOP by now ?

Good old Bill and his slick marketing!
TOO MANY GOOD SHIT CUMING OUT OF OTHER LABEL! Time for CODE RED to drop some serious shit and bring some grindhouse favorite !

BUCKETLIST FEVER I conjunction with Bryanston pictures !

BUCKETLIST #9 LORD SHANGO !

In this horror film, black African Christians confront the traditional religion of their peers when a Yoruban priest is drowned after attempting to stop the Christian baptism of a young girl and her mother. Trouble ensues when the priest comes back to life.
I've never seen this film, but I do have the excellent OST LP. It's a shame Bill won't allow me to buy this though.

Actually, the general deal is that the Blu-Ray's going up on CR's Big Cartel are upgrades of the back catalogue. Previously unreleased titles are made available via Screen Archives.

I've tried to post my feelings about Code Red on Bluray.com but one of the mods - don't know which one- always deletes the posts.
What makes it more difficult are the fanboys like Christopher Morgan who can be depended upon to come out of the woodwork and defend Code red no matter what and the sycophantic Val Lewton who posts "thanks" on almost every post Code Red post.

I don't think anyone would have any issues with Bill if it wasn't for the fact he pops up on the thread complaining about low sales and lost items.
If he did what he was supposed to do and announce new and upcoming titles everybody would be happy.
But he spends most of his time slagging off 88films, his own customers who he accuses of stealing from them if an item is lost and whining about low sales figures.
He compares his titles which can be found on his own site and Diabolik ( and sometimes SAE) with other companies who's titles are available from Amazon and even High Street retailers. Is he really that stupid. His posts are often gibberish as if written when drunk.

Despite people telling him to use tracking and signed for services he continues to send out large orders and then complains when people say they have not received them. Accuses them of being thieves etc.

To be fair, the bulk of his catalogue is absolute junk anyway with only a few titles worth pursuing so that accounts partly for low sales. Second is the lack of availability. He does now sell on SAE but even for US customers that makes things more expensive than most of his titles are worth. And what percentage of Amazon customers know about SAE, Diabolik etc?

How the guy continues to stay in business is a mystery.
I could be generous and say his act is a PR stunt to keep his company in the news but I think Code Red is the perfect example of showing there is such a thing as bad publicity. I know of several people who won't buy Code Red simply because of the person who runs it and also for how difficult it is to actually buy them in the first place, specially for non US customers.

It has to be a PR stunt, otherwise like you say, no idea how he stays in business. For example, despite every title apparently selling in the red, he has recently announced about 20 new upcoming releases!

If that's the way you feel, then why let Bill Olsen's approach to business bother you so much.

"The bulk of " does not mean ALL.
Occasionally there might be the odd title I am interested in.
A couple of years back when I was trying to get Nightmare I had to dig around to see what the problem was and this lead me to various forums predominantly Bluray.com where it became clear what the problem was.
The proprietor is an idiot who refuses to sell to mainstream outlets and then wastes time complaining about low sales while at the same time closing his own site down when orders pick up a bit because he can't keep up.

You only have to read posts from poor despairing US customers.
Really - anyone who has customers asking for the owner to please open the website so they can buy sometbhing from him deserves to to go down the pan- and that would probably be a good thing because all the titles CR own might pass over to somebody competent enough to make them available so people can buy them

On top of that , its annoying getting suspensions and finally bans for making comments that are totally justifed but don't fit in with the clique of Bluray.com mods and "studio insiders". That term should only be used to describe Olsen very loosely.
I think that Billy boy can fight his corner and doesn't really need the aid of interfering mods molly coddling him.
I'm not the only one who gives him obvious and competent "unwanted business advice" yet he never gets the chance to respond before the fanboys shout you down and the mods deletes the post.
So in all that time I've never been able to have a proper discussion with him to find out what his real reasons are for turning down sound advice on what he needs to do to stop the things happening that he spends most of his time on there whining about

I think bill is hilarious. The Elmer Fudd of home entertainment. For all his online nutiness, you can usually get what you want through his store or other sellers. And he has released some great movies-Nightmare, Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker, Primal Rage, and especially the blu ray of Messiah of Evil. That said, all my orders arrived fine. I would never ever want to talk to him about a purchase problem. From the other side of the room, he's fun to watch and it's fun to watch everyone blow their stack at this clearly semi-retarded "business man", good grief.

More classic histrionics:
Code Red wrote:"Watching THE FOREST test disc. Fine folks at Fotokem labs did some fantastic job with the 35mm stuff that the director had, and looks great! Cult UK label wanted it and didn't want to chip in a dime and waited like a spider for blue collar label Code Red to spend $4,500 to the lab!!! In the end, code red was places as a villain in the message board by cult UK fans. Oh well, Villain should be the one who didn't want to chip-in. Dont believe me, ask the director. Labels should chip in to create, not to get a free ride!!!.. Great to hear Gary Kent's voice ! Everything looks good,,,,, more test disc to go!"

88 Films have outright denied Bill's insinuations but they're not taking the high road about it. This was quickly deleted but Bill posted something about "why do I get a feeling overseas is going to steal my transfer? I got worldwide rights to [Black Gestapo]....", to which 88 Films quipped "We're waiting for the disc to pop onto our doormat........"

Code Red has finally started shipping Diabolik copies of most of their non-SAE titles for those who absolutely must still support this company but still at least want to be able to buy them in a way that doesn't give the head honcho access to your address for vendetta purposes

Code Red have done it again, pulling Necromancy's Blu-ray from their store after a user on the Blu-ray Forum shows evidence of optical censoring in one shot (though plenty of nudity in other scenes)

Just a quick question:

Did the owner of code red just decide one day to be vocal and crazy? or is it because he was already somewhat unstable and coupled with less than desirable sales of his product he decided to just take it out on everyone?

The context makes it even more sad. A poster says they're disappointed in the Necromancy release (because it's not the porno re-edit that came later? I don't really follow the argument) but really like Code Red and will continue to support them. Bill tells the poster to send the blu-ray back, to which the poster responds that it's a nice offer but not necessary then...
Bill wrote:But u runied my day so please send it back. I sold you garbage and willing to take it back.
Another poster makes a crack about how about Bill should take a photo of himself (in character as Bananaman) looking remorsefully at the Necromancy release which prompts
Bill wrote:how about banana man staring at your dead body? :x
I think it's genuinely sad he takes this stuff so personally and doesn't see that all the people (in this instance) talking to him and about the release are genuine fans of his product.

Best one in a while:
CODE RED DVD wrote:Just you all know. My cover guy just did the cover for CODE RED spine number 99 on BluRay. Other niche labels didn't even release 1/2 amount of what I have it on my floor plan for Blu. And yet, many didn't even sell 500 copies.

I don't think any small cult label ever release 99+ titles ever, yet they sell out as code red title collect dust space in public storage.

These are limited and most likely it's in the bucketlist till OOP. Once it's OOP, I will never repress it, as it collect dust once again. I will crank them out and use the money to press new titles.

if people stop buying, then pressing stops. last few title sold really bad so I need to exterminate old dvd in bundle to I can pay the pressing plant.

got big titles in plan, and money doesn't glow on tree.

can't wait to play with the rich indie big boys on putting out higher product. working as a one operation is paying off . for people who supported, I thank you. Passing cheap bundle dvd is like passing saving to build your collection to good product!

Even Vinegar Syndrome has already released 75 releases on BD in 3 years.
EDIT : I misread blu-ray.com's list, which contains many "No release date" entries. They actually released about 45 BDs. However, people like 88 Films have done more than 100 in 3 and a half years.

Code Red's owner owes Bank of America $393,000 and thinks this is info he should make public. He also apparently has 2900 copies of A Day at the Beach, so I'm not sure either number is going down anytime soon
