Re: Warner Catalog Titles on Blu
Any word on The Philadelphia Story or Bringing Up Baby? I thought they'd be AAA catalog titles that would've been released years ago.

I'm sure they will release it without a collectible T-shirt in a few months...

This is apparently a thing now for WB. To distract us from noticing they're not doing new scans on these films, perhaps.

Well, as Pinky & The Brain (owned by WB...coincidence???) taught us, there is no force in the universe more powerful than free T-shirts.

Day one purchase for anyone who ever wanted to walk around with Delbert Grady's dead kids emblazoned across their chest.

That tee will make a good tie-in with the new Diane Arbus exhibit at the Met Breuer.

Under the Cherry Moon (1986)
– His Purple Rain took the movie and music worlds by storm. Now Prince stars – and makes his directorial debut – in his lavishly playful second film, Under the Cherry Moon. He plays an American musician living with his pal (Jerome Benton) on the French Riviera and on the bank accounts of bored divorcees. The next object of his affection is a lovely and spirited young heiress (Kristin Scott Thomas in her movie debut). He doesn’t count on confronting the girl’s enraged father (Steven Berkoff). And he certainly doesn’t count on falling in love. But with Prince in charge, you can definitely count on exciting music, shimmering costume, production design and style to burn. This Moon shines! New 2016 1080p HD master.

Under the Graffiti Bridge (1990)
It’s got that Purple Rain feeling through and through. And it’s got The Kid, too! For the first time since Purple Rain, Prince is back as The Kid. And where he goes, there’s music! With "Thieves in the Temple", "New Power Generation", "Elephants and Flowers" and more red-hot Prince tunes from the Platinum-selling Graffiti Bridge soundtrack. What time is it? Party time! Morris Day and the Time play "Release It, Shake!" and more. And you’ll also see and hear George Clinton, Tevin Campbell, Robin Power, Mavis Staples and other hot performers, too. Graffiti Bridge is where the movie meets the music. Cross over on it now! New 2016 1080p HD master.

Of course they would leave out the only Prince film with a real claim to greatness.

I don't believe Warners has any distribution rights to that film.

Did they say if 'Salem's Lot will be the 107 minute film version or the 184 minute mini-series? Or both?

Miniseries version, but edited together as one film instead of two parts. There's conflicting reports on whether it and It will be widescreen or the original Academy

It looks like the Police Academy 7-film box set will finally get its US release on 10/4/16, three years after its international release.

Re: Warner Catalog Titles on Blu
I much prefer the 107 minute version of Salem's Lot. While it failed as a drama - you're supposed to believe the town and its inhabitants are latently evil and doesn't really work - it succeeds most for me as a horror movie. Trimmed and tightened, it fits more into Hooper's ouevre, gives more emphasis to the gothic spaces he specialises in.
So I was chuffed to find the German BD, released around the same time, is the theatrical version. Don't know what aspect ratio it's presented in though.
Not seen either BD yet, may get both for completism, but hoping the German looks better with less compression.
Anyone on here actually watch the Blu rays? I'll contribute when I've seen more.

Re: Warner Catalog Titles on Blu
Got the German Blu and was annoyed that it's the full version. On Amazon it had been listed as 107 minutes. I think they missed a zero when they should have used an 8. Ah, well. Salem's Lot always worked far better for he as a horror film rather that a TV drama and I always preferred it truncated. Never the best King adaptation, but certainly the creepiest. Mason is exceptional, exuding such icy, restrained and sophisticated malice especially in his interactions with the small town constable. SL works best as a continuation of Hooper's interest in the interior spaces his villains inhabit, via Soul's infatuation with the Marsten House.

Re: Warner Catalog Titles on Blu
I just saw GoodFellas too, projected from a 35mm print.
One thing really popped out. This shot:
The incredibly bright, almost fluorescent orange jump suit and the greenish paint on the wall. This is exactly how it looked on the print, and I remembered both BD's showing very different color for this, but I couldn't remember which had which. Turns out, the old 2007 BD (re-used for the 20th anniversary edition) has this color grading (and this is indeed a screen cap taken from it).
The remastered 25th anniversary BD did NOT have the same color grading as the 35mm print/2007 BD. Not even close:
Also, that annoying black line in that shot of DeNiro saying "I can't have it...I can't have it"? It was there on the print.
