I've been eager to see this film for some time even though I've generally been let down by the Vidor films I've sought out.domino harvey wrote:Duel in the Sun coming to Blu-ray!

On a question of whether Duel In the Sun will be the roadshow version.

I'll purchase most of these, though I really wish Wertmuller's first film The Lizards was included.

That's right. They were released individually in June 2012 and got bundled together in a box set in Oct 2012.Aunt Peg wrote:If I'm not mistaken, All Screwed Up, Love & Anarchy and The Seduction of Mimi have all been released on Blu Ray a couple of years ago.

Restored OSS 117 Films
Kino Lorber have confirmed that they are preparing the five OSS 117 Eruspy films for Blu-ray release. Recently restored and remastered by French label Gaumont, the films will be gathered in a five-disc box set which is expected to arrive on the market this summer.

I'm really excited about those American Film Theatre titles. Hopefully, John Frankenheimer's adaptation of The Iceman Cometh and Tony Richardson's take on Albee's A Delicate Balance will make it to HD as well.

Do the rights revert back to the Samuel Goldwyn Company, which would mean WB, which could be Criterion? Unless, it's another party that owns this.captveg wrote:Per MisterLime:

Re: Kino Lorber Studio Classics Acquisitions
The last piece of this news is that Kino's got this at $9.99 as part of a Studio Classics sale.captveg wrote:The Hurricane (1937) will go out of print as of July 31, 2017 – The title will be available exclusively on our website while supplies last.
Don't see Criterion going for this, but their release composition's gotten more diverse so who knows?
EDIT: For some reason, my link directly to the KSC sale doesn't work, so I linked to the relevant Bluray.com thread.

Re: Kino Lorber Studio Classics Acquisitions
It's a bad film and the commentary is more worthwhile than the film it covers. I already unloaded mine a while back and won't miss it when it's gone. It's hard to imagine Criterion or anyone else investing in another release of it
